Ferrari today: A town in Bologna has been home to Ferrari since the 1940's. The factory's 45 buildings house more than 3000 workers. It is here that Ferrari got a name for itself, here is where they first started designing their F1 cars. It was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929. At the start Enzo didn't want to make street cars, instead he was interested in F1 cars. LaFerrari: LaFerrari is Ferrari's newest model and is astonishingly ground breaking. The ground breaking thing is that this car is a hybrid and it is still fast but in my honest opinion, it isn't a proper car, a proper sports car drinks petrol by the gallon and spits it out the exhaust.

The Bugatti Veyron Sport: Well what can I say about this car other than, wow! Every person knows the name " Bugatti" and there is one reason for that, its really fast. The Bugatti is manufactured in Molsheim, France but surprisingly it is made by a German company, Volkswagen. The Veyron Sport is the fastest street legal car in the world. It has a top speed of 431 km/h or 268 mph. The Veyron has a 8.0 litre quad turbo charged engine. It takes less than 150 milliseconds between gear changes. The tyres are Michelin Pax run- flat tyres which cost $25000 per set. In 1998 Volkswagen bought the company Bugatti in order to revive the brand which was one of the best decisions Volkswagen has ever made. Immediately Volkswagen started making prototypes of the next Bugatti and they had one plan, to make the fastest commercial car available for the public. In 1999 Bugatti went to show of their newest ideas in Tokyo. They had a "Bugatti Veyron EB 18.4" and it had a 18 cylinder engine. The Veyron was named after a Bugatti designer, Pierre Veyron. Speed: Ever since the industrial revolution humans have loved speed. Maybe its just a natural thing but we have always loved to feel the wind in our face and our hair blowing wildly in the wind. The land speed record was first broken by the stevenson rocket. The rocket was designed by George Stevenson, Robert Stevenson and Henry Booth in 1829. It was designed for one purpose, speed.The engine was tested in front of 15,000 people and the crazy thing is that the engine was steam powered. This meant that hot coal turned water into steam and the steam rose up throught a vent pushing an axle back and forth, thus turning the wheel. The Stevenson Rocket reached speeds of 24 miles an hour. In the 1920's there was a stretch of beach that became known for setting land speed records. It is called Pendine sands and one day a man called J.G Parry Thomas tried to break the land speed record. He broke the record in the car "Babs", it reached speeds of 171 miles per hour but Parry was tempted to break the record again.In 1927 at Pendine Sands he was going to break the record again but it ended at disaster when the car flipped at full speed and Parry died instantly. His car " BlueBird" was destroyed but recently it was rebulit. The current land speed record was made by "thrust". A car that actually broke the sound barrier. On October 15th 1997 "Thrust" broke the land speed record with a speed of 763 miles per hour. The driver was Wing Commander Andy Green. He was a RAF pilot. But in the future there will be a speed car that can reach over 1000 miles per hour, it will have a rocket bolted on to a eurofighter typhoon jet. Hope you enjoyed reading!

Racetracks all over the world. Hi there guys and girls, its Morgan here again and today I shall talk about racetracks all over the world. I shall start with tracks in my home country, Ireland. Kirkistown Circuit is the main racetrack in Ireland and is the only licensed racetrack that allows for fast parts and hard corners. It can be difficult in the wet but on nice dry days the course is smooth and not too challenging. Next stop Great Britain! And for this stop we are at the famous Silverstone raceway which held this year’s British grand prix. This was won by Nico Rosberg, a German boy who was raised in Monaco and is a Mercedes driver. Silverstone is one of the hardest F1 tracks in the world and the word Silverstone is even in the Oxford dictionary. In 1948 Silverstone was set up by the RAC with the idea of creating a world class F1 track. Off to France! Welcome to Le Mans and welcome to one of the oldest races in the history of motor racing. Le Mans is home to a very famous racetrack. Le Mans is a 24 hour race that has been happening since 1923. Teams have to balance speed and fuel efficiency. All of the cars are specialised race cars and are all very expensive. The Audi LeMans edition cost £75,000. Le Mans is a extremely challenging course, not only the driving, exhaustion kicks in and that will lead to mistakes. Thanks for reading my blog on racetracks!

Chevrolet Camaro Z11 Tires

Hi there, as you may know i like the Chevrolet Camaro Z11 and today I’m going to tell you about the geography of the car tires. Pneumatic tires are tires that are made relative to the size of the vehicle. For example the tires on a smart car are tiny compared to the size of the tires to a GMC. There is over 450 different tire manufacturers worldwide and over 1 billion tires produced a year there is a large need for rubber (which is a main component to the process of making tires). Tire companies start with raw materials such as natural rubber and carbon black. Rubber comes from many natural organisms in the world. Natural rubber comes from the bark of a tree and is called latex. Carbon Black comes from the combustion of latex. These two main things are the main necessities for car tires. Rubber has the advantage of being naturally flexible and stretchy which means that the tire can take lots of impact and a smoother ride. Rubber also has lots of friction between itself and a road. A tire is also black because of the carbon black. The design of the rubber will affect the amount of friction and stopping power the car will have. Major companies are always trying to improve the design of the rubber to improve stopping power.
